It seems that I have once again discovered my blog.
I wrote the sentence above ages and ages ago and did not publish it, under the same title and procrastinated writing about procrastination until today. I was also meant to change the blogs name. That also took me about a year or so to figure out.
I was walking yesterday trying to take pictures of the place I live to send to my grandmother. While I was walking on the road, shielding myself from the cold, I take out my camera and take out two pictures. Then the camera dies.
I had not charged it for a time. I should have, but I didn't. Just like this blog post. I think about it, I try to start something and then completely don't do it for a time.
But I come back to it. That does matters.
Procrastination doesn't mean that you don't get something done. It means that you do get it done. Just later. I'm trying not to. Procrastinate I mean, but there's always something to do. Always something else to do.
Procrastination is like a giant warm fluffy monster. It first sits on top of your head and whispers to you. Sweet, sweet whispers. Do it later. Do it lattteerrrr. Then it grows and grows, feeding from thoughts of doing the thing that you were meant to do. Until it gets bigger and starts to squish you to the floor, forbidding you from doing the thing that you need to do.
And you know you should just shrug it off, but its warm and cuddly, and it's not hurting you or anything anyway, so why not just let it stay there. For a little bit. For a tiny little bit longer.
The only way to fight the procrastination monster of course, is to just get up and do it. Forget the monster is even there. A great way to do this is of course, your friend panic and hysteria and approaching deadlines. Good friends to have to battle of any monster on your back.
Now my camera is probably finished its charge. I should probably go and take those pictures now.
